Exciting news! I’ve sold another contemporary fantasy book to Penguin Random House! I’m working with the same team for my debut Gumiho duology on my new fantasy, Gods & Comics!
If you want to learn more or order Gods & Comics, Go HERE!
Grace, a Korean American girl, is dealing with losing her grandmother by anonymously writing and publishing a webcomic based on the myths and legends her grandmother used to tell her about the Korean gods. With the youthful and attractive sun god as the main character. The webcomic ends up going viral and Grace is shocked when the very characters she drew come to life! She has to find out how this happened and how to get the sun god back to his godly realm before he completely flips her life upside down.
I was inspired again by Korean mythology for this one, this time myths about Korean gods. There are different god myths from different regions, but for this story I focused on the tale of Haemosu, the sun god, and his battle with Habaek, the river god. I love stories that explore what would happen if gods came back to life and what they would make of our modern-day world.
Plus, there are some monsters inspired by more Korean legends and a cute animal side-kick! Hope you all enjoy my return to contemporary fantasy when Gods & Comics comes out in Spring 2026!
I am absolutely in love with the cover of Gods & Comics. The art is done by the very talented Robin Har (@saboteur) and the design is by Danielle Ceccolini!
I love all of the elements of this design, especially how Hae is coming out of the comic panels to reach for Grace as she holds her stylus. Plus the storm in the background is not-so-lowkey foreshadowing of a threat in the book!
